Tonik
The ssl in ios is broke, you bank transaction for example is not safe as it travels the wire between your computer and the banks website. Maybe using something besides safari will fix it, but that needs more testing.Apple released a patch for the phones, but the desktops laptops on osx are still unpatched. Apple will move fast on this.

F4iguy
So I updated my iPad to 7.0.6, but my wife is still on 6. Can she get a security update without going to 7? I found updates for 6.1.6, but they say they are for iPhones and iPods.
Bad324
So my fiancé ordered something via Amazon this morning on her iPad before I was able to update it. How screwed are we?
Tonik
You are fine. It would take a bad guy at your internet provider to nail you on that one. Assuming she was really at Amazon. No reason to think she wasn't, just pointing it out.
F4iguy
Amazon or Adam and Eve. All the same.
jporter12
I thought Apple was SO secure? My wife updated her 2 iOS devices (the only apple products in our house) last night. Word on the street is that Chrome and Firefox are ok to use.

Tigerpaw
Thanks Tonik. Updated. I'm tech dumb...why wouldn't this be pushed automatically?
smccrory
Thanks Tonik. Updated. I'm tech dumb...why wouldn't this be pushed automatically? It is, if your settings allow it. My mom's phone was updated yesterday but my dad's lagged until he forced it today. In any case it's better to force this one ASAP.
Tonik
Thanks Tonik. Updated. I'm tech dumb...why wouldn't this be pushed automatically? I think it is/will. But push is the wrong word. Your desktop phones home every once in awhile and asks if there is anything new. It just hadn't done that yet. So it's an automatic pull rather than a push.
