smccrory
Got twisted there on double negatives. Can't say I disagree. My only hope is that the Internet brings morons together, raising their visibility more than we've seen in the past. And also that it's just a temporary state before some gradual collective consciousness lift, accelerated by this airing of idiocy to the sunlight of smarter thought. Long shot, but it's possible, right?! :-)

ReconRat
Some people are fueled by emotions, and not decisions. It's the difference in power between the Id and the Ego. They will react, rather then analysis. There has been and always will be a large group of people that do this, for whatever reasons that caused it to be. The fast pace of internet communications (from our instant tweeting phones) has simply made it all the more visible to the general population. Thinking and decision making take time, and will never catch up with the quick reactions of emotions.

Bakemono
As the old saying goes, "never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups". Take our current government or the Tea Party, for example... Edited March 29, 2014 by Bakemono

Bakemono
Really, all the internet and social media has done is made the crazies worse because it perpetuates their wackadoodle ideas and they can go back and forth liking, commenting on and sharing crazy Facebook posts. At some point, you almost feel sorry for them because they are so gullible that they honestly believe some of this stuff. And then there are the ones who always have a chip ontheir shoulders, always looking for a reason to be pissedoff about something that really amounts to nothing. Theyare known as professional victims, constantly seekingsympathy as a way of gaining attention so they can feeltheir lives have been validated. .
