Lithium Ion batteries require different charging methods than the old acid batteries. Inside a Lithium Ion battery are different cells - typically 4, 8, 12, or 16 cells depending your motorcycle's requirements. By balancing these cells, you are ensuring that your voltages are equal between the cells giving you the greatest power from your Alien Motion Battery. The LED charge status indicator simply turns from red to green to signal that charging is complete. Plug in the banana clips and diagnostic plug into the bottom of the charger. The diagnostic plug only goes in one way, so it's impossible to screw this up. Shown here with the Alien Motion 8-cell battery, not included.
