ZxHooligan
After a long thought process I have considered selling my zx12r for a bagger. My fiancé can't ride on the back of my sportbike and really wants to ride with me. Don't get me wrong I love my zx12r. Of the 3 bikes I've owned it's the best one so far. And not because it's a powerhouse but the overall feel. It's comfortable smooth and very nimble for as big as it is. Am I making a mistake or should I keep it and just buy the bagger and have 2 steeds in the stable
Al Z. Heimer
My thought would be if you can swing keeping it and buying another....do it. Some of the best trips and times have been on the Wing with my Wife.....but it just won't satisfy the 18 year old in me so I have to have another. One thing may be helpful is to take her along and see if she it comfortable on it. Just because it is a bagger does not mean the pillion is gonna pass her approval. Edited April 12, 2015 by Al Z. Tonik
Depends on your financial situation. If you are very well off, keep them both. But if you are not slamming away money for retirement and making major progress on paying off your house sell it. Get another when you get older and more secure. Helmutt
I say keep it. If it's paid for and you're financially sound enough to pay ins/tag it yearly, then why not. Wife and I just added 2 more bikes to our stable, it's nice to have options
2fat2fly
Keep the the 12. There's really no replacememt for it. Buy a second bike that the wife enjoys for the road trips and keep the 12 for your daily commute. I guarantee you'll be happier that way. Bad324
Keep the 12. Buy a cheap vtx you can let ride on and see if she likes it better. Then flip and sell for a bigger or turn the vtx into a bagger
Wolfman1
I think I would keep it sport in my garage, but move over to a Concours or FJR. Way more room for a passenger with sport bike feel, handling and removable hard bags. Buddy of mine just traded in his bagger for a 15 Concours. Best of both worlds! Hoblick
keep it, and by a bagger as well if you can. me and my wife love taking trips on the street glide. my favorite touring bike by far, all day comfort, radio, storage, etc etc. she is super comfortable on it as well. but i still love having a scone bike for when i ride solo and is more sporty

Tonik
Well the axe came down on the zx12r yesterday. Walked out of the dealership with a brand new 2015 street glide You made a great choice. You will have a blast running around with your wife with both of you being all nice and comfortable. Now put together some not too long little trips. Even 2 day trips. Like down to Charleston WV Saturday morning, stay at the dog track/casino..eat hot dogs at Hillbilly Hot Dogs and go home Sunday. PA for the Frank Lloyd Wright house...Falling Waters and swing back through Moundsville WV for the prison tour. Both trips would include nice curvy roads.... ZxHooligan
congrats, you'll love the street glide. if you need something powder coated let me knowI will definitely let you know it's the denim flat grey so I think I'm gonna do all the chrome powder coated flat black eventually. And thanks everyone I've got to go through the motions with the break in period but so far I'm liking the bike. It just calls out ride me. And it puts a bigger smile on my face than my sportbikes ever had.

HeavyDuty
Congrats on the new 2015 Street Glide and I welcome another pirate to the forum. One word of warring do not let the fiancé get to close to the Harley Motor cloth section at any of the dealers. LOL

One word of warring do not let the fiancé get to close to the Harley Motor cloth section at any of the dealers. LOLIs this advice coming from previous experience? And thank you I just needed something more conducive for my bad knee. I didn't have a problem riding it 100 miles home from the dealer where as the sportbike I'd get 40 miles in and my leg would kill me

magley64
Was the zx12 really that bad? My wife is perfectly comfy on the back of the cbr 1100xx for rides less that 6 hours. After 6 hours she gets antsy. one of her first rides with me was the rainy river ride with fonzie.
