Monaco: Land of scooters, fancy cars, & man made gunk.

Spent a long weekend in Nice back in college. Rented scooters and rode up the mountain to Monaco. Really beautiful ride. Came back down the mountain, went to some Monet museum, some asshole stole my helmet, bought a bottle of vodka, drank it all, beat up some French guy, puked in the bidet, passed out on the bathroom floor. I don't remember a minute of it from purchase of said vodka bottle to awakening covered in blood, vomit, and urine.

That being said, there were tons of boobs on the beach. But also man-thongs (crotch not feet). Enjoy!

Thats a greAt story! It's really crowded here and nothing to do but drink, eat and gamble, walk around and look at stuff. Which I hate.

I'll trade spots with you. Monaco is on the bucket list for Jill and I, especially i when the F1 circus is there.

I think the GP race starts next week. They have all the gaurd rails up, et cetera. Some of these yachts are friggin huge. Helicopters on the back deck. Russians pfft. Race would be cool to watch though.

That sounds like an amazing time. I wish I was with you. Really.

Oh if we could all be miserable on some exotic Rich peoples island playground.

Eat great food, drink expensive food and people watch, bubby. Rent a bike and take that chick for a ride. Daamn. Wish I had your problems.

It's a workcation. Not unhappy or ungrateful, I don't value most man made things is all. Its all the same in many places. All the buildings and crowding is really sad. No wildlife to speak of. It's all designed to entice and empty your pockets, why people like it, I don't know.

It's the land of excess to be sure. We just sat outside one of the casinos and admired the crazy expensive cars pulling up. Those people live in a different world.

Drove a 1939 MG TB midget thru Nice and a bunch of other places I can't pronounce today. Cool car. Terrible turning radius.

I think the massively rich pretty much do the same things tourists do here. The famous come here because papparotzi is illegal in Monaco so the famous can have a normal, unbothered day.

I went to myrtle beach for vacation. I have the exact same complaints. Just busting yo nuts. On the other hand you have a job that allows you to travel to (beautiful?) places. They've gotta have a beach you can scoot off to and enjoy the non-manmade pleasures.

Lol sounds better then my work week lol. Hey scott how is the plant down there?

I work for a major welding company, Lincoln Electric, in the robotic automation division. I am a tech support toubleshooter. I also provide training for a virtual reality welding training product called Vrtex.

So I flew down to Rio for a meeting and meet the Brazil support team. Then Monday, took a flight from Rio to Campinas Brazil. Three days later, hired a driver to take me to Sao Paulo to meet the team there.

Traffic reminds me of LA or Atlanta.

This was my first international work trip.

Normally my travels are US only.

When I travel to visit a school or training center, those are usually in decent places. The robotic factories can be in a major city or in exotic places such as Mountain Home, Idaho or Newland, NC, which are two cities that are not near anything.

The are two other guys on here that also work in automation with me.

Depending on the schedule, you do not always get to become a tourist once the training is done. You get the stress of travel of making sure you make any connecting flights and you hope you can actually find the place you are looking for. Once the training begins, I could be anywhere, that part is mostly the same.
