Making gloves work with touchscreens - Anyglove versus Nanotips

I have a mount between the handlebars which holds my phone while I ride.  In order to be able to actually do anything with it, I needed to get or make touchscreen motorcycle gloves.  I had already purchased Scorpion SG3 gloves and like them, so I wanted to find a way to make them work with touchscreen devices.  I ended up buying both Nanotips and Anyglove - leather versions only - and trying them out.

The first product I found and tried was Nanotips, which I saw on TwoWheelObsession on YouTube.  Nanotips makes me think of black nail polish.  The bottle is shaped like a nail polish bottle.  The cap has a brush in it that is like a nail polish brush.  It smells like nail polish. You paint the liquid onto your glove's fingertip and let it dry.  It is generally recommended that you use a hair dryer for drying.  When I didn't, the gloves weren't quite as good at touchscreens, but that second layer may have mattered more.

Nanotips essentially creates a black rubbery layer on your gloves.  Worked fine for me while the rubber stayed on.  After two weeks it peeled off my index fingers, and about three days after that it peeled off my thumbs.  During that time I had found out about Anyglove and bought a bottle to try.

Anyglove comes in a bottle with a drip tip.  Drip on, smear around, dry with a hair dryer.  This stuff didn't make a separate layer over the leather.  In fact, it wasn't very visible at all on the black leather.  Durability was also better - three weeks is the least an application has lasted.

I definitely like Anyglove better than Nanotips.  I'm wondering if Nanotips' rubbery layer might be better for rough leather or other non-smooth surfaces.  The layer might also have lasted longer if I had cleaned my gloves better.

If you have any questions, ask away!

Like Jim said hang a stylus or get some conductive thread and sew some on the tip of your glove finger.
