They are doing it under the guise of easing the burden on the poor and that's how they sell it. Socialist regimes are no different and than any other. The rules don't apply to those in charge and they do as they see fit.

There are a lot of people that really need help who are trying to help themselves. I get that and I'm all for helping. But a growing number are "poor" because they are lazy and are gaming the system, are drug addicts, continually make bad life decisions (i.e. popping out kids like Pez), or just do enough to get by but expect more.

I went to school, I actually paid for it myself by working while I was in school. My parents were literally dirt poor growing up and I didn't have much as a kid. I busted my ass working 40-60 hours a week and was (mostly) responsible my money and decisions. My wife sacrificed even more (including her first marriage) to build a small business into a success. So fuck you to the lazy bastards described above who want a slice of my pie because they feel it's unfair that I have x and they don't.

My sister is an example...wasted her life, does nothing, has nothing and has no intention at all of doing anything about it. At one time I tried to help her but all she did was take and lie to me and not do a damn thing so I no longer help her or even have a meaningful relationship with her. I refuse to help those that aren't willing to help themselves...I don't care who they are. It just enables them and gives them no incentive to change.

And now a serious answer.

My point is there are a couple of thousand kids right outside my office door that are getting no help and have no chance. They don't have parents or brothers that can point them in the right direction. Your sister had a chance, she had a smart helper. She made her choice, she is on her own.  I am betting your parents raised you right, and instilled the drive in you that got you through school and on the road to being cool.

Very true...kids are an entirely different dynamic. I have absolutely no issues helping kids, even if they do have people in their life that can help but don't. Kids have no choice or tools to make it through on their own. Every time I see on the news where these parents are beating/starving/abusing their own kids I want to do something very horrible to the monsters they call parents.

Just recently there was a woman who had her kid taken away as a baby because of suspected abuse. It was eventually returned to her and she killed it at just 4 years old. Oh, and by the way, she's 7 mos pregnant.

They bitch about taxes and poor people.  But they are ok with spending boatloads on f'ing up the rest of the world and accomplishing nothing for our people. I said it before and I'll say it again.

Cut defense spending in half, double social program spending, give everyone a tax break and buy Bad a bike.

To be clear, I'm not complaining about paying taxes, I'm complaining about raising taxes on those who work hard (yes, some people who are considered wealthy actually work for a living) to ostensibly give it to the ever growing population of lazy fucks. If everyone DID their fair share who was able, there wouldn't be a need to raise taxes. Especially since we know, as you all have stated, it gets sent overseas instead.

Now I'm not "rich" but far from poor and regardless of whether I bear the brunt of those taxes or not, it's a band-aid (and a poor one at that) treating the symptom and not the root cause. It's short-sighted and the politicians don't care because they exempt themselves from most of the crap (i.e. Obamacare) and use things like insider trader (which they are exempt from) to pad their wallets.

My wife pays more taxes from her small business than a lot of people make. So much so that she's talked of scaling back to be under certain tax brackets which means laying people off which is also us paying less taxes and those people paying no taxes and collecting unemployment. See how this works? It's asinine. You don't fuck with the very people who keep the economy afloat.

My step dad had the exact same issue and discussion back in 2013. Unfortunately, he was way too nice and did not want to put people out a job so he tried to make it work. It didn't because of regualtions and tax changes so instead it literally killed him in 2014 and everyone was out on their ass.

Engage brain a bit here bud...the moral of the quote is not about socialism, or Nazi's, or any of that. The era it's from is irrelevant. It's about not caring about what's being done to others because it doesn't apply or negatively affect YOU. Until it does. That was the point of me posting it. If something is wrong, speak up. Fix it. Don't ignore it because it's "not my problem". I see this at work from time to time and at good companies, those people don't stick around long.

I definitely won't be voting for Trump as he is a loose cannon, has no experience, makes hateful shit up as he goes along, & has sociopathic tendencies. The only reason he is in the race is because of his huge ego. I'll vote for Clinton. She's made some mistakes that I'm sure she has learned from but there is no comparison between her & Trump's motives. She has people that I respect endorsing her. (Any democrats endorsing Trump?). She doesn't have top level national security people writing open group letters saying that she would be the most dangerous president in history. Those of you that are arguing ideologies of far right vs. far left are missing the point here.
