2017 MotoGP Season Starts

Fin

Recommended Posts

The Grand Prix of not for street motorcycle racing is about to begin. There are three classes: MotoGP (800 cc to 1,000 cc 4-stroke), Moto2 (600cc 4-stroke), Moto3 (250cc 4-stroke).
Sadly... America does not have any contenders, which is ridiculous!

Keepin an eye on American PJ Jacobsen....kickin butt in WSS.

Sadly The Kentucky kid is still struggling, but keeping pace when he's not DNF.

Also sad to see no Mid-ohio on the motoamerica schedule once again!

I emailed them last year asking if Mid-Ohio would be on the schedule anytime soon.  Their answer eluded to Mid-Ohio not being safe for motorcycles.  They said when Mid-Ohio makes the necessary upgrades, they will consider running there.

I don't recall ever hearing anyone complain about safety there.  I know they moved the wall back off of the front straight after a fatal accident, and turn 1 has to make your sphincter pinch a hole in the seat, but I can't think of anything else that is bad.

I understood it was this corner that didn't have sufficient runoff.  Mid-O doesn't own the road to the east so they can't fix the problem.

You guys are also forgetting that mid-ohio is an absolute hazard when wet.  The pro race series events want to run rain or shine so they can maintain their event schedule.  A wet track at mid-ohio is a cancellation level event.

^this... do you all remember how bad it was in 15? at the last AMA event .. all the races had to be run on sunday as over 3/4 the field went down in practices on Saturday morning..

can you run a good clip at mid ohio in the wet yes... but racing there in rain is freaking stupid... its a surface issue
