Popular Post Killer_kaw
I was up a little early this morning and had some time to kill so I decided to take a little blast up sr83. Still just a little foggy out and early enough that deer were still on the move so I took it a little easier than usual. Let's call it a brisk pace. It seemed like it was gonna be a great morning. As I started into a left hander along came an SUV in the opposite direction but 2/3 into my lane. I stood the bike up to miss it riding deeeeep into the corner before I could throw it over. Edge of the road mid corner deep. The rear started to slip (guessing trash along edge of the road) and my reaction was to hold steady on throttle and try to counter. Shit happened fast and there was no thought involved just reacting to what the bike was doing. I nearly had it straightened up when the ass end bit. I can't believe I stayed on the bike at this point. I'm shocked at just how violent that snap was when the bike straightened up. Other than being a little rattled all was well and I felt very lucky. Needless to say I headed for the house. 5 miles from the house I see a truck with blinker on to turn onto a road to my right. Unsure if he saw me I ease up and the truck straightened up as if to wait for me to pass. At the last moment he decides to make the turn. Pretty sure I was up on one wheel before coming to a complete stop in the middle of the road about 2 feet from the ass hats trailer. What are the odds of this shit twice in one day. Seems some folks need to pay a little more fucking attention behind the wheel.

B-Mac
Don't be riding that great looking motorcycle you have off-road now. Good job of saving yourself for another day of riding.
jschaf
One of "those" days. Glad to hear you kept the shiny side up. Seems like with each passing month the driving skills of those folks we share the road with diminish a bit more.

Killer_kaw
Thanks fellas I had to vent a little. By the time I made it in the garage I was somewhere between rattled good and mad as hell. Just happy to keep it vertical.
ReconRat
Some days, when things go weird on two wheels, I just turn around and go home. I'm a firm believer that it won't get any better sometimes. You can sort of tell if it's a one off event, or destined to be tricky/risky all day. The greater the "unexpected" part is, the more likely I'll call it off. But the good news is, that doesn't happen very often. So I'm ok with cancelling a ride occasionally.

Some days more people than usual try to kill you. Take the bike home and wait for a better day.
PhilD'oh!
I wish I could have aborted this last international trip. Lots of weird stuff every day. We had to soldier through. Long, tough week. Would have been better to just turn around and go back home.
Killer_kaw
Thankfully I got a good ride in Sunday. Kinda nice after the 30 mile hell ride Saturday.
