EVERY Weekend there's a place in westerville on State St. RIGHT next to the Post Office that hosts games. Check the paper, it's in the section where Bingo games and all that are at. It changes someitmes, but most the time it's at the "Westerville Armory." I used to play but haven't played in a long ass time. Saturday's and Sundays, they have No-Limit Tournaments usually at 2:00 and 4:00. I'm planning on going up there around 1 or 1:30 to sign up and play. My friend played last week and here's what he told me... -Buy-In $30 and you CAN rebuy in. I don't know how mnay times in how long of a period. -Start out around $400 in chips -Blinds start at 5/10 and are raised every 15 Minutes - 1st Place was ATLEAST $1,500 with Top 7 Paying out. -Around 80-90 people played -Very hard he said, but if you make final 7, you're making sweet ass cash. Hope to see you there. I always have my Cincinatti Bearcats black hat on and sometimes I have an Orange. So come up and say hi if you decide to play. -Cody

smokin5s
just an idea, for those of us who don't like gambling... maybe should have a table for non-betters.

Guest infamous me 235
Well I just got home from from the 2:00 tourney. Youngest kid playing by atleast 15-20 years. Got dubbed the "Cincinatti Kid." Got to the final table with about $3,000 in chips. (Started with 1,000) Got up to about $5,500 with final 7. Top 4 get paid. There were 2 very short stacks, mine was decreasing slowly. Around final 6 I tightened up too tight, hoping to place in money. I folded A-Jo when I got rasied, folded pocket 8's and 2's. Finished 1 out of the money. I had enough for the BB and I was BB next hand so it was either this hand or next, I called with Q-10 suited. BB plays with A-A. Fuck. I stood up. Flop has a Q in it, so raised my chances of winning to slim now. Nope, nothing more to help. Oh well, it was a blast. Was pretty pissed when I lost just because I knew I tightened up too tight. The guys that I was with were extremely good and could read you very well. I was proud of my self to make it that far being the youngest and having the bullseye on me the whole time, especially the final 7. Oh well. See ya next week there. Devils Advocate
Don't play there. All it is is old people and crack heads using their welfare and social security checks to play awful hands that catch ALL THE TIME. Also, blinds raise every 8 minutes or something rediculous, and they play eleven people to a table (casinos and all other games generally never go above 9, more than that really messes the odds up). If you want to donate some of your paycheck to help someone pay for crack or booze, then go to the armory. disclaimer: I'm even unbiased because all I lost was about ten dollars, and watched for about three. It's alot easier to just throw in 10 blue chips worth $100 than it is to throw in a single $100 bill.

Dr. Pomade
We can play at my place, as long as (1) someone brings poker (or adequate) tables; and (2) we don't plan on having more than 15 people playing, as I don't think my two bedroom apartment would hold that many. Also, see the other thread (in the Parking Lot) on another alternative, albeit one in which we would have to pay to use the space.
