"It’s a far cry from the likes of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or the Subaru Impreza WRX STi, and purposefully so. Mazda said it never considered a hood scoop or “the boy-racer look,” instead concentrating more on using richer materials and finishes to elevate the look of the car over its stock brethren. In fact, Mazda has its sights squared more on the Subaru Legacy GT as its primary competition, a 250-horse sport sedan styled in a similar manner: sleek and sporty."

Good point, but AWD is better than WrongWheelDrive at least.

Welcome to October. tongue.gif

This link has some good info, ( http://www.triplezoom.com/news/publish/article_242.shtml ) make sure to check out the torque curve. Direct Injection OWNZ and it shouldn't have a problem out of boost.

that motor is 160hp/160ftlbs before boost It should be fine, I mean mine moves fine with an 80hp/105ftlb before boost..although I"m always building boost :D

Actually it's not 160hp/160ft lbs before boost. It's not the same 4 cylinder that's in the regular Mazda 6 model. It's a direct injection 4 cylinder that's only used overseas.

2.3L, 9.5:1 compression won't have a problem off boost.

I've always liked the Mazda 6's. Glad they are finally give it some balls to go along with its good looks. Something just doesn't look right about the front of this car though, and those wheels are awful. I belive the Mazda 6 and 05 Mustang are built on the same assembly line.

Yea, that's stock. As someone already said, the torque is in Nm and the power is in PS (which is slightly off of HP).

Or even a well-preserved 1G DSM. Once you have had your eyeballs pushed into the back of your skull by an AWD launch, you'll want nothing else.

3600 lbs??? Wow Mazda and it's heavy new cars.

The thing of it is most people don't think about weight when they buy a car. They just look at the peak HP numbers.

I'll take my LGT with 250/250 and 3300 lbs. smile.gif

(of course the LGTs are dynoing 280-290 range....shhhh! )
