Guest 00Smurf Posted December 20, 2004 Report Share Posted December 20, 2004 Well not all people but some. So after being with out a car for a while, since my supe is in the shop. I bought a beater car for the winter. Didnt have much to spend but i got a nice deal on a 92 nissan nx 1600. Had some minor front end damage. needed a new light, bumper, fender and hood. Nothign major. Just take the broken parts off and put the new ones on. It was still driveable in its current conditon. So i Drove it over to get the tags and title switched. 30 mins later with tags in hand i was leaving the bmv when i hear a screech. I look up to see a suv plow right intot the front of the nx. Suv stops backs up and keeps going. Looked like a woman driving to me. I was too far awy to see much other than it was an suv and it looked like a woman. Yea, i'm definalty pissed now. I get closer to survey the damage. My one good head light is now smashed, the the right side wich was fine is now smashed in. more of the bumpe is gone and the left side is now even worse off. plus she cracked my coolant resivor bottle, and bent the radiator in. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Amazingly, it still runs, just fine. so i drive it home and procede to rip off the panels. Basicaly i need to knwo how hard and what do i have to do to bend the metal bits back in shape? The big metal bar in the front doenst need to be fixed because it can be replaced with a new one. It unbolts, which is nifty. but the surrounding metal and the radiator attatchemtents need to be bent back. As near as i can tell the damage is localized to the front. no motor mounts or anything major is affected. just the support bits and such. So if anybody can chime in and offer advice or offer their help i'd appreciate it. Also i will have an entire front clip to pull parts off of so anythign that needs to be replaced that can be removed is readily at hand. Give all women who currently have driver's livences thirty days to acquire bus passes or sign up for car pools driven by men, and then revoke all female driving priveleges. Special Bus and taxi systems will be created to take them from home to the Grocery store (and, in some cases, the laundromat). Someone type this up and send it to a senator. lord_tris Posted December 21, 2004 Report Share Posted December 21, 2004 me and my freind pulled mine out with a hold down strap. hooked to the frame of my truck did a real good job. and then i did about 2-3 hours of pounding the core support with a 2lb hammer and got it pretty straigtened out. I thought about the door frame but i figured it would break. Since you've done this before intrested in helping or at least showign me how the correct way to pound it out? Therefore, it's core support should work fine. Since you already have it there, I would suggest that once you find a person to weld it in, to let them remove the good one so that they can get it out exactly how they want it.
