boostedgtp
Does GM make a heavy duty LS style valve spring? I have a old (2000) GMPP book and it doesnt list LS style springs. I have ls6 springs and retainers and am looking for something around 105#. Thanks
excell
The LS6 springs are ~90# If you want 105# springs, buy the Comps. They are better quality and not much more expensive. Don't do everything bottom dollar, Carl. It's going to fuck you in the end.
boostedgtp
My buddy had a comp. spring break on him a month or so ago. I dont think comp stuff is junk or anything Id just like to use a GM spring. When it comes to car parts, especially internals, for me its all about quality. Did you run comps in your car? MrMeanGreen
Find a set of LS6 springs, they're substancially cheaper than Comps if you know where to look. I'm running mine to 6800 RPMs on a consistant basis without any problems or valve float smile.gif
boostedgtp
I have ls6 springs on my car now with my 1.9 rockers. The cam im wanting to get says i need 105#s
Nitrousbird
Then run the Comps. Tons of big big BIG HP guys run comp springs. I run Comp 978's in my car (those aren't direct fit spring for LT1 heads; they were machined to fit). I've never had a single problem with mine. Dave1647545494
Fuck comp cams.... I had a comp cam in my 430 wiped lobes for no reason. switched back to crower with good results. contact gm powertrain and find out what they run in the corvette race cars if its an LS series motor it'll work in your 3800

excell
For the XP cam (I know you are going with that one) you NEED 105# springs. It is FAR too aggressive for LS6. STOP TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING ON THE CHEAP, IT'S GOING TO FUCK YOU.
boostedgtp
Yea was planning on getting a XP cam. I dont understand why you think im try to do this cheap tho?? No, the heads will have to be modified extensively to work.

The cam he wants to get makes power there.. and higher. Go back to your cave. graemlins/slap.gif
