Scotty2Hotty
Anyone got anything that can grip a 15mm drain plug that's stripped to all hell? I've tried vice grips in all reality, but I can't get the damn thing off. Wondering if anyone has a socket that will take the damn thing off. Thanks

Scotty2Hotty
My socket wasn't gripping, I broke one, and the other stripped it to all hell I think Dan Tobin put that on with a fuckin air wrench when I took it in for warranty work. I've got a new plu, just need something to grip it and get it off.

Boost-n-Juice
Use a blow torch and heat the pan around bolt, take a sharp chisel and hammer to knock the bolt loose.
Guest nevarmore
You can also try a dremel/hacksaw/grinder and flatten two sides of the bolt then have a go at it with a crescent wrench, or if your grind it right a proper sized wrench. zeitgeist57
Berto's got stripped bolt removers that have brought me to tears of joy when I've used them. They're thuper-fantastic. I'm not saying Berto would let YOU borrow them, but investing in a set would be a good idea right about now. smile.gif

Nitrousbird
I believe your plug is the same as mine; you are supposed to use a 9/16" socket on it. smile.gif

But, now that it's stripped you might want to go to Sears and get the Craftsman bolt-extractor sockets. They work wonders.
Guest MustangBlade
Cheapest way is a chisel, hammer it straight into one of the sides so it's in there good. Then point it to the left and tap it counter clockwise. It should come right out. I've used this for broken bolts, stripped heads, etc.
