squeaky sound

My front shocks/springs are incredibly squeaky. They've been like that ever since i've had the car. Whenever i go over a bump or something, they will squeak, and it is extremely annoying. When it's raining and wet out, they don't squeak. what's the deal? I have tokico shocks and ground control springs.

Is there metal-on-metal contact between the springs and spring perches?

If so, there's your answer.

A few places sell a rubber "sleeve" that wraps around the last few turns of the spring. These keep the spring from rubbing on itself and the spring perches.

Look at a stock setup, and you'll see the rubber (or plastic) wrap.

EDIT: In the wet, this will be less noticeable (or absent) for two reasons: 1. the water provides the lube at the point of friction, 2. your windows are up and the rain deadens the noise.

Any performance shop will have something that will work.

What you want is something that keeps the coils from binding on themselves, and from rubbing on the spring perches.

The Original struts should've had a rubber "washer" above and below the spring.

As for the spring noise itself, you're basically looking for these:

"rocker arm bushings"?

Control arms? If that's what you meant, than yeah, they would squeak, especially if they are Polyurethane.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't squeak all of the time though. Usually poly bushings have to be removed, then coated on the INSIDE with white lithium grease.

If that silicon wears off, then that may be your only course of action.

I swear that pic worked when I posted it...
