Help me pick some new computer components

Okay, I am interested in getting a new mobo, chip and ram to stick in my computer, but alas I spend too much time doing other stuff to keep up on all this stuff. Current system is 1900 Athlon with 393MB of DDR and the board is an FIC I think, but it has been some time since I bought all this stuff so I might be wrong.

Get an Athalon 64 with the 939 chipset... garanteed you won't be disapointed with the performance of this processor.. I have the 3600+ which is like 2.6 Ghz and a 2 Ghz front side bus.... needless to say it opens windows in about 2 seconds from the time it starts booting.

What board do you have with it, and how much memory? I was thinking I would go with the 64 route. I know about the sites, I just wanted to know what others felt were good items currently so that I didn't have to spent hours researching it as that is what I do all day for chemistry

That is quite a lot of memory you have there. If memory serves me correct my board will only support up to like 2GB. What brand/model is that mobo?

I program on servers. Its not a practical work station.

newegg.com has some combo specials with amd 939 chips and select mo bo's nice ones too..
