Science Abuse
Simple, how old is this engine? (No fair if you already know, so shuddup!) http://squidcar.com/carimages/benzos/Benzo-Images/19.jpg

BigDawg
It looks like it is out of an old 40's or 50's european car. Probably a Benz.

coty061885
I think I can see the Mercedes emblem on the valve covers. And that belt driven accessory on the right side looks pretty dated. I'd say late '50s.

El Karacho1647545492
Its like Joan Rivers. Parts as old as 50, as young as

I was expecting the v8 with a throttle body to immediately trip "Late 80's" in most minds. I should have posted an engine with less wear. http://www.info.pagoden.de/6.3%20Motor.jpg http://www.benzworld.org/gallery/pics/24_1432346_311200533555AM.jpg I saw one the other day and it struck me as being quite cutting edge for 67. ridenred27
i seen the plastic over flow and the releys and that bumped the car out of the 50's but the valve covers are a dead give away for a damn benz ( i personally hate any benz i have had to do way to much work on them, they are very well built cars but i still hate them) i didnt say mid to late 70's early 80's because i didnt see any bosch injection there. i like that intake though pretty slick looking
coty061885
Yeah, the primitive looking fuel injection made me think late '50s, early '60s.
Lustalbert
5 years off, not to bad. If I was getting an engine from that era, Id still rather go with a rocket, rat, or hemi. Oh wait, I do have engines from that era....

Science Abuse
i didnt say mid to late 70's early 80's because i didnt see any bosch injection there. It's actualy plainly visible in this shot. Thats an expensive assed fuel distributor, I've heard of them selling well into the 5 figures.
