Damnit, I was coming on here to post my pictures from the weekend and found this thread haha. Nice photos, but why are they all black and white?

I guess I'll post my link to my pictures here, to keep things tidy. I only uploaded about 1/3 of my pictures, these are the best ones.

Those are the Aston Martin DBRS9's.. can be bought for roughly 320k'ish dollars. Beautiful cars and absolutely amazing engineering in them.. it's definately the car I would get if I had money to blow.

Those cars are NOT the DBRS9's. They are DBR9's. The DBRS9 is a derived from the DBR9, for private purchase (track days and such). However, Aston Martin has said that they are going to sell/have sold a few DBR9's (the full on race model) for private collecting.

You are correct, in that, they are around $320,000 to buy a base model DBRS9. I too would have one if I had the $$$. Build mine with the optional sequential 6 speed please.

Yes, the Aston's are sexy, but I love the R8 more. I have a Top Gear episode from a season or two ago where the Stig actually drove a full race DBR9 on their track, it was amazing.

Did anyone see the one Aston go off? I think it was in turn 5, I only heard about it over the PA, but I guess it got some pretty big air over the curb.

Airborne would be the word for it, he must of been 20 feet in the air. Somehow the car didn't flip or anything, just landed in the gravel and slid to a stop. I caught it on tv, dont know if their are any still shots.

I watched the airing of it on CBS when I got home (DVR'd it) and they showed the Aston's wreck. I think they said he traveled 41ft while in the air.

Damn, I couldn't find any pictures of this, someone help me out.

Pete, I did notice that the Audi's were really quiet. I heard the R10 was really quiet, but I can't imagine a race car being any more quiet than the R8 was.

Here's my favorite picture I took during the weekend. It's from the Porsche GT3 Cup race. I found it makes a nice background, too.

Pics of the flying Aston --> http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1008994

Last weekend during a practice lap at Mid-Ohio Raceway the 009 Aston Martin ALMS went airborne off the track and "flew" 142 feet before landing off the track in the dirt. The track was reportedly wet and the unidentified driver lost control under braking. Fortunately his car was the only one on that part of the track at the time and it amazingly remained level during its separation with terra firma.

These pics were found on the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club (NASIOC) forum, and those guys know a lot about flying cars from watching Subies take flight in World Rally competition. One astute forum member noted that the first record of powered flight by the Wright brothers on December 17th, 1903 lasted for 120 feet and 12 seconds. We checked it out, it's true, which means the Aston beat the Wright brothers' first flight by 22 feet.

Check out more pics after the jump including the takeoff and landing. Word is there was video shown on TV of the accident, so kudos to whoever can find it first.

Does your DVR burn to DVD? And if so would you mind ripping an ISO of the race? I wanted to see it really badly, but I missed it.

I should have clarified, sorry. It's not actually my DVR. I went with a friend and we watched it at HIS house when we got home. I also don't know if he can burn to DVD or not, and I have no idea how to rip an ISO, or even what an ISO is. Sorry.
