good junkyards for old cars...mid 60's?

Looking for an interesting walk in and around columbus

i like 1962 - 1972 stuff - any old yards around?

 

 

i'm not expecting to find a COPO camaro in the weeds...just some parts, possibly

if its gm stuff theres an old junkyard out by granville called astro autoparts

all they have are gm's back to the 40's

guy is only open from like 1-5 though a few days a week

kind of neat just to walk around out there its built on the site of an old wwII bomb factory

thats the closest around here your going to find anything old all the columbus yards have scrapped the old stuff

I dont know what the deal is with them but wirthmans has old cars lining their lot. Most are overgrown with weeds. But some appear solid. I could never understand why they havent taken and parted them.

Sorry, I know it's an old post, but I saw this while searching for something else. There is a great huge JY that has mostly older cars out on 40 just W of W. Jefferson and just past the golf course on the south side of the road. The JY sat for a few years pretty much untouched, but last winter a young guy and his pop bought it and are trying to do right by the old cars there. They're good folks.

This is funny, we actually drove by that Autos place over the weekend. I wondered what it was.

 

It was closed, and the sign on the gate was "Danger Explosives".

 

Now I will have to stop out there when they are open.
