MrMeanGreen
Lately, my dryer hasn't been drying 100% efficiently. It's an electric Whirlpool, about four years old. Most of the clothes get dry the first run, but if it's all pants or heavy shirts (and the elastic area of socks), they're still usually damp and another 40-60 minute run drys everything. I've checked the filter, and clean it every cycle. I've also checked the output vent and it's venting, and the dryer does get hot after a run. This just started a few weeks ago. wnaplay1647545503
Sounds like the heating element. Easily replaced. The wires that make up the element get old and start to seperate. Call down to a couple of the appliance places on Parsons ave. They are amazing at getting you any new or used part cheap.
wnaplay1647545503
It could also be the temperature control. Heating elements either work or dont. However mine was going bad and it was working one day the not the next. The wires were on the edge of snapping.
Dave1647545494
It's either the heating element or the limit switch. It's kinda hard to tell without looking at it.
MrMeanGreen
Do one of you two mind coming by and showing me these elements? I can fix a ton of shit, but I sometimes have a habit of disassembling beyond my control

Berto
dryers are easy to take apart. look up online howto's I just replaced the motor on mine. remove the controls panel, pop the top off. this will give you access to removing the front cover. then remove the belt from the drum and unbolt the drum and you have the heating element. If i coul do this on my first try it should be no problem for anyone.
wnaplay1647545503
Hopefully we will get lucky and it wont be under the drum but behind a panel in back like mine.
