kenny
Two days ago I decided to run a Carfax on the VIN of my old car, finding a new title was issued in October. The day after I run my original title # on the state BMV site, revealing the current owner - James G Jackson, Chief of Police. I assume since his job title is listed next to his name, he isn't the owner and it is probably at the impound. So today I call the impound and they tell me the car is in fact there. I'm informed I won't like what I see as it is only a shell. First, picture of it before it was stolen, Edit: Too lazy to rehost these, you know what it looked like. Edit again: here, watch a video if it instead http://media.putfile.com/norwalk-38 Note the headlights, the lack of a truck lock and the wheels. This is what I find, http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5272.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5273.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5274.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5275.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5276.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5284.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5281.jpg http://www.wtfhost.com//files/44/IMG_5291.jpg Turns out the car has been there since January. State Farm was notified of this in February when the impound sent out TWO letters to them telling them the car was there. At some point the Columbus Auto Squad steps in since my car was recovered with Mark Martin's race car that was stolen around the same time as my car. Also, two months ago someone was there and removed a motor and an axle from my car. That guy was somehow "the current owner", even though I settled with State Farm so they should have held the title. There is more, but I'm kind of sick of the subject at the moment so I'll get back to this later. I'm going to attempt to buy the car back and rebuild it when I'm done with college (about a year left). I don't even know if that is possible at this point (buying it back) so we'll see how it goes. Turbotrio
Yeah, it hurts to see it like that. I remember how good that car looked after all the paint / body work was done way back when. I even had all kinds of pics saved after it was buffed up and ready to go. Its hard to believe that is the same car.. Jeff

I mean why would it be painted? would someone actualy drive around in a hot car?

TTQ B4U
that's the problem with older 80's cars....too damn easy to steel. looks like they took just about everthing too. surprised they left the dash....looks very clean. must have been a nice ride. does suck that somewhere, someone was likely driving your ride around and that now there's still likely someone around driving with your motor or parts of it! Ziggy1647545504
That sucks... Would've almost been better to not know, than to find it in that kind of shape. I'm sorry man.
302Powered
I saw that car on the road late last summer. I wanna say it was around the Northern Lights shopping center. Sorry to see it stripped, man. -Mike
Cougar1647545494
That sucks. Its no fun seeing something you love and dumped a lot of blood/money/sweat in that condition.
Mr3GTP
Sucks, man, that car was beautiful. I think it's Turkey where the hands of a thief are cut off...although in the case of this car theft, castration has more appeal...

SpaceGhost
Kenny, when my wife Totaled her car it was taken to the inpound. We went the next day to get books and things from the car, they absolutly would not let us take anything out of the car. Nothing, we had all info that we were the owner. Not to mention only one person was allowed to go back to see the car! Sounds like someone inside wanted that stuff. I mean they wouldn't let her take the medical supplies she had in her car for her job untill we paid the inpound fees and had it towed away. I have pics of the car just outside the inpound when I could get all her shit out. Sucks man. Sorry.
kenny
Well, CPD wasn't smart enough to open the trunk (it had no lock in it). I found a sawzall blade inside the car and popped it. They let me take a few things out of the trunk. There were a LOT of parts in there. My mirrors, my three piece spoiler, etc. All still painted grey. I'd like to know who got to take a motor and a rear end out of it two months ago. Probably the same person that stole it three years ago...
