Guest Hal
Does anyone know the size of brake lines on a '71 corvette? Also, does anyone know a good place to pick up compression fittings and a new caliper for a reasonable price?
AJ
5/16. don't do compression fittings if you value your life. i'm sure AZ or Advanced has them, or NAPA but if not they are here for $160 http://www.vbandp.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=
Guest Removed
don't do compression fittings QUOTE] what he said... you will die a horrible death. and go with the stainless calipers. yes they are more, but you wont be redoing it next year. and those are rebuildable. Guest Hal
Damn, I was hoping they wouldn't be a problem. Oh well, in that case, does anyone rent a standard flaring kit, or should I just pick one up?
Bam
i bought one for $20 from autozone, i've done plenty of lines with it and it works fine, takes a little patience at first, but the tools are top notch. I'm doing my entire cobra with it and 3/16" lines, as well as my 3/8" fuel lines.
Guest Hal
$20 isn't bad, I'll pick one up. I'm just happy I don't have to bend too much line.

cdk 4219
NAPA sells STEEL compressoin fittings just for brake lines and thier high pressure. Brass ones could give you a problem. just make sure the line that you are splicing is good. On the other hand new would probably be better, but I have used the steel comp fittings with good luck
Guest dubya65
I bought my calipers (stainless steel ) at Corvette Corner. I found them a little cheeper on the net but after shipping costs it was about the same. As far as the lines, you can get most any brake line in SS prebent for your Vette from them as well.
