and go with the stainless calipers. yes they are more, but you wont be redoing it next year. and those are rebuildable.

i bought one for $20 from autozone, i've done plenty of lines with it and it works fine, takes a little patience at first, but the tools are top notch. I'm doing my entire cobra with it and 3/16" lines, as well as my 3/8" fuel lines.

NAPA sells STEEL compressoin fittings just for brake lines and thier high pressure. Brass ones could give you a problem. just make sure the line that you are splicing is good. On the other hand new would probably be better, but I have used the steel comp fittings with good luck

I bought my calipers (stainless steel ) at Corvette Corner. I found them a little cheeper on the net but after shipping costs it was about the same. As far as the lines, you can get most any brake line in SS prebent for your Vette from them as well.
