Vulcan_Rider
i think it is good that issue 6 failed, the way it was set up there was nothing that would of came positive of it.Sooooooo 200 million dollars distributed between all the counties in Ohio was not positive? All of the tax revenue that would have gone to the state was not positive? All of the new businesses that would have come to the area were not positive? All the businesses currently in the area growing would not be positive?Creating around 3000 construction jobs was not positive?Creating around 5000 jobs at the casino and resort was not positive? Please tell me how any of these things are not positive? As far as the guy taking HIS money out of state, its HIS money, it would only be HIS PERSONAL PROFIT that left the state. Every time you buy anything from anywhere that is not based in ohio, the money leaves the state. So probably 90% of the money you spend leaves the state, why is it such a crime for a casino owner to take what is his and spend it where and how he wants? Disclaimer
200M dollars? Hell, I say "let it ride"... we could turn that 200 into 400-500.
max power
But they weren't "good" jobs. "Good" meaning something that someone would want to make a career out of or retire from. 900 of those 1000 jobs were low wage, low skill positions.Taco Bell and Circuit City brings jobs to communities too if that's where the bar is going to be set.Gotta agree with you on this one. Most sense you've made on a long time.
John
motor city casino will keep getting my money... sorry ohio. and then i will go to canada for the strippers.
fusion
Gotta agree with you on this one. Most sense you've made on a long time.I agree. No jobs is much better than 5000+ new low and middle wage jobs in a town where 6000+ people are looking to lose work. Not to mention the impact it will have on surrounding small businesses that may lose a chunk of business. Most of those people are low wage earners too, so no loss there either. We should work to make sure DHL definitely closes down there as most of those jobs are low wage and all of that money left the state anyway. Hell filthy company is based in Germany the money doesn't even stay in the US. We need to go picket until they are run out of Wilmington. When we are done there I'm going to Columbus to work to get every fast food joint in Ohio shut down. Not only are they only no future low wage jobs, fast food is horrible for Ohio's health and general welfare, especially in our ever fattening youth. DangBruhY
I wanted more jobs in this area, but unfortunately Ohioans wanted to keep new jobs from coming to this area.I heard they are rewriting it and are going to put it back up. kenny
I think the only people that voted for issue 6 are those that only saw it as legalized gambling and didn't read any of the history or what it actually entailed.

ninjachk08
I heard they are rewriting it and are going to put it back up.good.. i might be up for it if it gets written right! id love to bring jobs to ohio.. even if they are min. wage. a little is better than nothing, considering how many ohio has on unemployment. and id rather them work than me pay them! id love for ohio to have money to put back in the state!
