Sparky
My girlfriend is looking at mini's and im trying to help her out. What are the common problems with the S versions? Shes looking at the 2002 and a few 2003's. I see there was a suspension recall in 2003. Any spicific problems to look out for besides the general maintaince items? SpaceGhost
They seem pretty solid, My brother in law was over last night putting on rotors and pads on his 2002. It only has 40k on the clock, so you can see he is pretty hard on it.

Got-Boost?
The only problem I've seen is stupid used car dealers want to charge the same price for a 2-year old one that you can get a brand new one from the factory for....
Flyin Miata
My dad had an 2002 Cooper S for about 2 years, never had any major problems. Was a very well built car, and VERY fun to drive. Could keep up with just about anything in a corner, and with the fold-down rear seats you can still fit a decent amount of crap in the back when you need to. Sparky
Sounds good. I think it will be a good sized car for her because she is somewhat short. And it is somewhat tunable Still looking for one thats not on the east coast but i might just have to go and get one from there.

Mojoe
I've always like them. If I had a beach house, that would be the car I leave there.
Big A
+1 on a solid car. My old boss had one, I got to drive it almost every night. The car seemed to ride nice and smooth. They got it the first year they came out and had it up until this year and never had a problem with it.
