would chroming this take out the detail?

Got a classic ram head for the ramcharger today from the junkyard for only 10 bucks. . . going @ 50-60 on ebay I thought it was a steal. .. but it's a little tarnished. I want to get it chromed but I'm not sure if it will take away from the fine detail of the ram. . what do ya'll think?

No way! lol. . i just want it to be 100% original. . including the ornament. . and i plan to garage it and take it to cruise ins and such.

You might want to try some never dull and see if that cleans it up. It has worked some miracles for me on my 86 K5.

yes chrome will take away some of your detail. not all but some. acid dip, nickel, nickel, copper, clear. The copper is only done in custom chrome. Shops in this area don't really use copper anymore. They had to be grandfathered in. I have a friend in Cincinnati who owns a chroming shop that is this way. Hes done work for a lot of guys in the area.
