TimTaylor751647545500
So I'm outside cleaning up after mowing my yard, and this kid in a Mazda 3 with a cherry bomb sticking out of the back of his car had this "song" balsting in which the lyrics were "Blow it up motherf_cker, blow it up". This repeated at least 8 times as he drove by my house. Is this really what people listen to?
Scotty2Hotty
I like the darker genre of music myself IE In Flames, Mnemic etc....
Jeffrey
you just described 90% of rap music, one lyric repeated over and over and over. Those talented "artists" I tell you.
cptn janks
meh... its just kids. i think this just means you're getting old when you were 18 (and i was 13 lol) gin and juice came out. people were like WTF? snoop dogg? people actually listen to this? i remember some places wouldnt sell doggystyle because of the cover lol. same with our parents. our grandparents would be like elvis? no way. too much gyration in the pelvic area. beatles? those long hair hippies! people actually listen to that??? TimTaylor751647545500
I must be, but I still listen to Public Enemy from time to time (age shown) What ever happened to verse, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus, verse, chorus, chorus?
cptn janks
public enemy FTW. a lot of the newer rap and hip hop is just shit. i think the earlier stuff was a lot better because people could relate to it. it could appeal to a wider band of people. nowadays they are just talking about dropping benjis on bottles of crissy and rolling around in their hummer on 28s. how many average people can relate to that? maybe "blow it up motherfucker" was part of the chorus? Patrick
I must be, but I still listen to Public Enemy from time to time (age shown) What ever happened to verse, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus, verse, chorus, chorus? It died in 1994. I've been so into muse lately it's not funny but if you're looking for verse chorus verse I recommend Wolfmother...imagine if Zeppelin, Sabbath and AC/DC had a love child band. RangerTurbo
I walked out of work one night to find I was parked by a Mexican guy in a Ford Escape, with all windows down and driver's door open, blaring Backstreet Boys "quit playing games with my heart" to the point of speaker distortion. HotCarl
I'm sure it started as a form of music but was simply transformed into something they could play at clubs. All of the "good" rap these days are just hook's, that's it. A good beat, maybe a good line or two in there and thats it, its a hit. I listen to it every now and then, but I get tired of that shit after the 5th time I've heard the same song. To each their own I suppose. mmrmnhrm
Hmm... mostly Euro type stuff, with some 80's (Def Leppard, Pet Shop Boys, Peter Gabriel) thrown in. Occasionally if I'm in a really good mood I'll hit Rob Zombie, Korn, Linkin Park, and that sort.
