6 Speed S4
My buddy has a 1996 Talon ESI auto. The motor blew and he wants to swap a TSI motor and a 5 speed tranny into it. Is this possible? He was told that the tsi motor will not swap in because the electrical harness is different. If so what shop could do the install for him? He wants to get this done asap. HotCarl
No way. Your right the wiring harness is completely different and thats just to start out, it would cost more work, time and money to convert everything than if he just sold the shell and bought a fwd tsi. Why doesn't your friend research it for himself?
turbomark
Harness is different as well as the body mounts for the engine. Aint worth it it'll still be fwd.
Dr. Apex
Agreed, just replace the stock motor or scrap it.
