Correct. Since VW group owns Lamborghini, the R8 is just a sexier Gallardo (is that even possible?) The prevailing opinion in the industry is that Audi will wait 1 or 2 years and come out with an "S" model using the Lambo V10.

thats what I though poor mans lambo . Not thats a bad thing just wonder if they will offer it as a sypder?

Off topic, but I was just out for a run and saw an Audi A5. Looks pretty sweet with the LED headlamps that resemble the A8. A+.

Seen the new B8 A4 ???

Took most of the styling cue's from the A5, yet a 4 door. Simply gorgeous, especialy as I am not usually an A4 fan. 1/2 way through the model year they are supposed to bring the 3.0t TDI to the states. If they do come through with this diesel, i'm SOLD!

Yeah, the diesel sounds nice. I haven't seen a new A4 in person yet but I've seen this black A5 twice now (once driving the opposite way and today it was sitting in traffic as I jogged by) and it looks extremely pimp to me. I'll stick to GM for now though...the new CTS in coupe form will be hard to resist (hopefully they bring the diesel over here too)...or maybe a G8.

They should have released it with the V10 or bigger engine from the beginning. Why they release the baby motor first and then come out with a faster one later isn't smart IMO.

Haven't auto makers been using this tactic for decades? I mean look at the new M3, they made people wait forever before they started selling it after the new 3-series came out. It usually increases the number of people on thier waiting lists.

Yeah, that's the formula... BMW, Porsche, hell damn near everyone does it. Slowly milk the whole demand curve. Sell the shitty one first (Z3/4, Boxster, Caymen, new or old 3 Series, doesn't matter...), then make a mid power model with a 6 cylinder, then release the hot rod. At each new release, a new group of buyers will "cave" and buy that one, impatient for the real one. Then when the real one comes, people will buy that one too. Then refresh the model / body style, repeat!

The domestic version is to release a "Limited Edition" or special model. Those blue and white "Grand Sport" vettes for example, or the '03/4 Cobra... all about milking the $$$ and having a steady revenue each year...
