MrMeanGreen
It's been sitting for two weeks. Today, it starts up rough, idles rough, spits white and black smoke for about 30 seconds, then dies and won't restart. It's only about a year old. New gas, plug and wire look fine, it wasn't flooded, I tried the manual choke on several settings, and no real changes. I let it sit for about an hour, and it did the same thing where it rough started and ran shitty for about thirty seconds, then died again without a restart. Any ideas? KillJoy
Try a new plug??? My brother-in-law had that happen last year. Used the mower 3 times, 4th time...plug was shot. Just a thought.... KillJoy

wnaplay1647545503
When mine does this, I take the fuel line off the carb, drain the fuel and blow alittle air through the line.

Guest Hal
Check air filter. If it's puffing black, it's got too much fuel and not enough air.

wheezy
Check air filter. If it's puffing black, it's got too much fuel and not enough air. +1 I think a dirty air filter is probably the problem.
heelside1647545510
the air filter is actually very important in lawnmowers, if its clogged up or dirty it can cause many problems.
