Mensan
The only time to drink white wine is when you are all out of red wine.
black00ws6
White wine is way too sweet.. Reds are where it's at. Try a bottle of cab sav from Oberon(I forget the year). Real good for a 18-20 dollar bottle. A little more expensive would be a Stag's Leap cab sav, or one from Robert Mondavi. Life is too short to drink cheap beer or wine. Some other good choices Newton Livingston Justin Trefethen Silverado
87GT
Red wine is the best wine. Hands down. Merlot is my favorite followed by shiraz.

Lustalbert
mmmmm, port. I usualy do Cab Sav, Robert Monsovi, David Bruce, red truck is not to shabby either. I had some Crane Brothers when I was in Napa, just need a meal worthy of opening the bottle I brought back.
excell
It depends on what I'm eating with the wine. If I'm making seafood or barbeque white meat I prefer white. Also with some oil-based pasta dishes as well. But most other food I prefer red. The type of wine in either category also depends on the food. 87GT
I don't care what I am eating. I always drink red wine. Sometimes I drink a bottle without eating anything. I drink red wine just because I want to.
iwishiwascool
Red or white depends more on the sauce of the main course than the type of meat. The more you know.
