Slimpsy1647545505
Wal-Mart to start selling electric cars in not so distant future Yeah, random article I stumbled upon. Electric versions of the mini cooper for 35,000. . . . I'd like to see who buys one. Edit: Electric version of mini goes 0-60 in 6 seconds? flippy1974
they want to do it all, and run everybody else out.
BloodRed
Wow that is not going to work for Wal-Mart. Cars take up a lot of room, so you can't jam everything out of the stock room out on the shelves so it will "sell." I wonder if they would put the cars in the clearance asile if they don't sell? TA In Progress
Wow, I see it's made in North Carolina. That will be deviating from Wal-Mart's current strategy of selling Chinese-made garbage.

koolrayz
I think there would be a market for an electric micro compact, one to two seater. Something not much larger than a motorcycle with a 100 mile range. It would have to sell for under $6,000 to be competetive IMHO
Nitrousbird
Will I still have to wait in line for half an hour to buy it, while watching the various kinds of trashy people doing whatever stereotype you could assign to them? Mr. Jones
As it was stated above, I would totally buy a electric car for my commute. It would however have to be CHEAP. No way I'm paying that much for a some POS.

Sully
why buy that from walmart when ... http://www.autosavant.net/2007/12/smart-car-sales-in-us-will-easily.html I wonder what that car would look like after a full size truck/suv hits it because the driver can't see the damn thing. When I was in Paris a few years ago, I saw a shit load of those cars. I lol'd every time I saw one.
