500HP RX-7
I owned a 2000 750iL for a couple of years. Best thing to do it go search the BMW forum. I know with the 740 there were some issues but I dont recall which years they were for.
Akula
I would stay away from the 740iL, as far away as possible. If you know the shop that worked on the car, you can ask them for the total number of SROs for the vin. This car had loads of problems. I used to work for BMW customer relations, I processed alot of buy-backs and collateral exchanges for this model.
Smokey
radiator endtanks are made of plastic and will shear off at the neck for the upper radiator hose. This leads most 7 series driver to serious engine damage because they don't notice the massive steam/mess coming from their car spewing coolant until it's too late. get the vin and take it to a BMW dealership and see if they'll look up the history for you. boostedgtp
Rear lower ball joints, front or rear control arms, cats/o2's, valve cover gaskets. Check to see if the service B has been done,(plugs and filters). Dont be supprised to spend a couple thousand on that car in maintence and wear issues.
