Guest nadthomas
Sorry, but my stepdad was the 3rd shift maintenance foreman at Buckeye Steel for years, and he never had anything good to say about the place.

I guess its too bad you don't even know your employers history. So, how about you read up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckeye_Steel_Castings Don't worry I have absolutely no need to work in that shit hole. My stepdad only shortly returned to "Columbus Steel" after the owner begged him to actually get the factory functional again. Most people there are clueless, and it appears you are among your own people.
Orion
fortunately, its not as bad as you think. from the wiki that you posted for my supposed self improvement... In 1967, the parent company Buckeye International, Inc. was formed, and then acquired in 1980 by Worthington Industries through a stock merger. Worthington sold Buckeye Steel in 1999, but it went bankrupt in 2002. you may want to get the sarcasm detector checked out, however, noob. just thought id point out to you that its not the same company, and hasnt been for six years. that being said, i have never been employed by buckeye steel, and as of this writing, i dont believe theyre hiring. Most people there are clueless im curious to know how many of the 900+ employees of columbus steel that you are familiar with, or what special insight you have that allows you to discern how many of said employees happen to be "clueless", as you put it. My stepdad only shortly returned to "Columbus Steel" after the owner begged him to actually get the factory functional again. is that so? the 6 months or so of unemployment werent a motivating factor? neither was the money? out of the good of his heart, he left his family for 8 to 12 hours a day just to get our factory working again? or pehaps you have oversimplified this statement as well? what is it that you do for a living, my friend? yellowsnake
i worked for columbus steel. NOTHING BUT LIES FROM DAY ONE I WORKED THERE!! i worked in the maint. side of it. greg west was my supervisor. just ask him, he remebers me. my name is Dwane eplin. I'm good at my job and i know what i am doing and there pay compared to the rest of steel plants in AMEREICA is a joke. sorry man but it is. Most of the people working in the plant are not american. most are mexicans and the black people that dont speak english. i can't remeber where they are from. After i had my second review, still have the copy of it in my room, got a 32.75 out of 36 and they told me the most they could give me was .25 i walked out the door. It is a shit whole, dirty and they will run your dick in teh ground if you are a good worker and dont care either. just my experience with them. Yes but do they compensate you for running "your dick into the ground"? Or is their OT regulations screwy and you dont neccesarily get what you deserve? Theres a big difference, i wouldnt mind working OT for an employer as long as Im compensated as such. Oh and the correct term your looking for is Somalian. Oh and the correct term your looking for is Somalian. your work week started on saturday, no double time at all and only 1.5 after 40hrs. HAD to work every other weekend. trust me i LOVE overtime b/c i love the money. but i came from a company, to there that paid double time on sunday and any holiday weekend and triple time for holidays. and i worked at LEAST 400 hrs a year b/c they did all of hondas shutdowns. I left that company to go to columbus steel b/c it was closer to home and the company made me mad. I went back to them after i quit buckeye though.
