zeitgeist57
Screw the cost of diesel. Someone needs to start making the stuff. I'll gladly pay $2.00-$2.50 a gallon for something that costs $0.80/gal to make. I just don't have the time with the new job and a baby on the way. Anyone know of someone brewing bio-d in the Columbus area that has enuff to sell batches of 20-30 gallons? I'd bring my own containers to mix with regular diesel. I was running Cleetus on B20 in Florida and I'd like to cut my own B50 if possible.
blueG60rado
If you find out let me know. Everything I've found is over 3 dollars, although I have heard rumors of a couple people starting biodiesel plants around here. What type of diesel do you have? Have you thought about getting a kit to start and stop on diesel and run the rest of the time on waste vegetable oil? It's definitely cheaper than buying biodiesel. zeitgeist57
6.2L non-turbo Detroit Diesel V8. Good fuel economy for a 3/4 ton (about 20mpg in mixed driving) but at $4.20 and climbing I have to get on the SVO/WVO or biodiesel bandwagon... Ramsey
fuck bio diesel, i know a guy running 90% crate oil.. yeah, used motor oil (after it has been filtered of course)
Draco-REX
http://www.greasecar.com/ Convert your diesel car to run on filtered vegetable oil. Not biodiesel, but the straight oil. You still need a little bit of diesel or biodiesel to start the car. But once the vegetable oil warms up, you can run your car on vegetable frying oil you get at Sam's Club. You can even get used oil from restaurants for free, you'll just have to filter it. There's an article about it in the latest Grassroots Motorsports magazine (june 08). zeitgeist57
Right. I should've been more clear...I've already checked out WVO kits from http://www.Greasecar.com and that's a legit solution but INITIALLY costly. I was wondering if someone already had biodiesel in production here locally for cheap. BTW, I just heard from an incredibly reliable source that by Friday diesel will be more than $4.25 a gal
