Wet Basement, Help Needed !!

Recommended Posts

One of my dads rental properties in Worthington is having some water seeping in around the floor in the basement. Nothing major but we are trying to get it fixed before the next tenant moves in which is soon. Just checking to see if anyone on here does this type of work or can recommend me someone. Thanks in advance.

Where is it coming from? The block? If so check all gutters and downspouts for breakage or blockage. If it is coming up from the floor, check the sump pump to see if it is working properly. You can drylock the block walls if you want or you can call a basement company who will come put a drain tile around the inside of you block walls in the concrete floor that will drain to the sump pump.

Look for wet corners (typical for downspout problems). If the water is just coming up from the floor look in the sump basket, does it have water in it? If not you have a broken french drain, or your sump is pumping but it isn't making it to the street (blocked line).
