2highpsi
XP Professional 5.1.2600 SP2 It seems to be working okay now but it did this sometimes before too. Well I can't blame it on Vista then. Hopefully it doesn't kick you off again and it was just a corrupt driver.
kenny
Probably not the router, because the roommates arent having the problem. Could be the card going bad. If the uninstall/ reinstall or driver update doesnt fix the problem I would agree its the card. Ditto.

2highpsi
 I hate computers. Messing with the drivers made it work for a while, so now I don't believe its the card. I am calling it a night, but if it gets to the way it was PM me, I have a couple more things you could try.
Kevin R.
Hmm. Now I cannot connect to our network which I was allowed into. I can only get into our neighbors unprotected networks. Something must have changed. I just had to switch between the two open networks as the one quit.
2highpsi
Were you connected to YOUR netork after the driver reinstall?
Kevin R.
Were you connected to YOUR netork after the driver reinstall? No. That must have been the one I attempted to connect to when it originally did not let me connect to anything after the re-install. Honestly, I am not sure anything re-installed. I guess it must have but nothing popped up or said it found it.
2highpsi
when you try to connect to your network what does it say is yours a secured connection, if so did you put in your network security key (password)
MrMeanGreen
Reinstall the driver with the newest version, don't let XP make that decision for you. Go to My Network Connections and right click. View connections and get the name of your card. Go to the manufacturers website and download the appropriate driver. Install, reboot. Eh, upon further review it is no longer in my list of networks. I guess we will have to set it back up.
2highpsi
This is tough to explain like this..... network tech support via posting online ftl anyways, go to where you see all your networks right click on YOURs go to properties should be a security tab where you set up your network settings. Who set up the secured network for you?
2highpsi
It should show up regardless. You just wont be able to connect if its secure, but your card will still see it WTF unplug your router and plug it back in, see if it pops up then

Akula
Make your network the only preferred network. The problem is probably due to channels, what channel are you using vs what channel does everyone else use?
87GT
Change the channel on wireless router and try connection again.
Kevin R.
It does this with 4 different networks. How can we assume it is our router? I just don't see the logic there.
Kevin R.
These are the only drivers I can find on Toshiba. http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=8100000000220000000100006598000000E7/810000000C58000000010000659C00002C36 Nothing about wireless. This is shittier now than before.
87GT
If changing the channel doesn't work you should try using another wireless device. Find someone with a USB wireless network card. See if that fixes the problem.
2highpsi
You have reinstalled the drivers, the drivers are already up to date, noone else is having a problem in your room, all the networks that you connect to are doing it....... the fact that it worked right for 10 minutes last night makes me think its still a software issue, but it might be worth trying a new card. They are cheap anyways, heres the first cheap one I could find http://www.techforless.com/cgi-bin/tech4less/WG511NA?mv_pc=google_base
