Wetsand it, use a little bit of rubbing compound to smooth it out, and then spray clear coat over the peeling areas feathering it out onto the good areas. Follow up with a polishing compound.

That really doesn't guarantee that rust won't form, but it will help until you can get it professionally done. Did the paint peel down to bare metal or did the base coat peel off showing the layer of primer?

Another option is to go to http://www.paintscratch.com Look up your paint code and get a can of color matched spray paint. Sand it a bit, spray the paint, then spray the clear.

Ahh, delamination. Basically your screwed for a quick fix.

We take an air gun and blow it all back until it stops peeling. In cased of delam, we take whatever paint is left and take it off. This was caused by GM (and chrysler) skipping 1 step of their paint process.

I'd suggest having it repainted. I know of a shop that could do it for you.

Thanks, but I DO NOT want to put wasted $$$ into this car, and repainting it would be just that.

Can I just peel off the flaking paint, and "seal" the edge to stop it from continued peeling? Then...possibly primer (in white ;) ) the metal area?

I say just peel off the real flaky stuff, sand the area, and then paint it with a close matching can of duplicolor. When you paint the bad area I wouldn't even bother masking the hood off at all. When you mask off stuff you are left with a line of paint build up that is hard to blend in just right from wet sanding alone. Do mask off the windshield and fenders though.
