If you look at the ( ) shapes on the side, they were bent up, on both sides, all the way down.

Well i talked to the shop today and found out that the headgasket was replaced but was done wrong. Now they need to surface the head a good amount, do a full valve job, replace all the valves with longer ones, its ridicolous. Im pissed but i want it done right ya know.

I had to deal with the same shit its not worth it. Sell car........

I could have built a 11 second car for what i had in fixing my damn supra.

But i still miss it.... It just needed a 1jz or 2jz swap and i would have been happy with it

let me get this straight... you took it to a shop that proceeded to do the headgasket, but did it wrong?

THEN, they're telling you they have to do it over, but do head work this time?

sounds like you got a winner!

It didn't seem to me like he took it to the same shop. Maybe he bought it with the h/g job done previously?

I misunderstood him on the phone. He said the valves are going to be too long after the shaving, so he needs to shorten them. Sorry about the confusion.

What does that have to do with decking the head??

And for the VJ you should be able to buy thinner lifter bucket shims to get the correct lash.

The heads being machined because there are grooves in the front and back of it. Pretty deep too. After being shaven down about half a mm or so, (not exactly sure what it is) the valve stems are going to be too long. And id rather have it done right then what would sound ghetto w/ thinner lifter shims. When i was there saturday they had all the lifters laid out and numbered and were going to make sure they were all correct monday.
