Browning
are these like older gm models that are vacuum operated?
Cordell
Possible vacuum problem, but sounds like a head unit if it won't go to high either. Hard to tell for sure without taking stuff apart.

Dave1647545494
first check and make sure the system is fully charged the best way to do this is to just vac the system down and then recharge it.... if it still fails to operate then you check your pressure cutout switches you can use a scanner or a DVOM and find the value in the repair manual if you have a full charge and both pressure switches are ok then the compressor is toast
yellowsnake
its not charged at all. it was drained b/c i couldn't get it to work before. but i think this was from the vacum issue and such.... sound like i need to take it back to gearhead and have him charge it for me. Cordell
What keeps high from working when the vac line is off? Did I just miss something? Dave is right about the rest of this as well, charge A/C and see what happens. Too bad this is harder to do outside of a shop.
yellowsnake
i replaced a fuse and redid all the vacum lines and now high and everything works. i think it was from the fuse why high wasn't working and then it wouldn't switch b/c the vacum line was broke in half
