Let's assume someone is selling an 05 Black LS2 6sp GTO.

 

KBB Private Party on it is $17,500.

 

It has a cam + supporting mods, long tubes, y-pipe, duals etc.

It has aftermarket tasteful front and rear fascias.

It has aftermarket 18's (clean, not blingy).

 

It has an Ohio rebuilt title.

 

What would you pay?

Why is the title rebuilt?

 

11-12k maybe?

i would have to take a hell of a test drive. day long to make sure everything checks out with a rebuild title

Repaired I would pay 12k with mods maybe 13...

 

On a side note. I can buy (right now 3 to chose from) 05 GTO's 20-30k miles 6 speed...(the ones with dual exhaust 6.0l?) for 8k

Agreed 100%. That was just a starting number. Car has 25k miles.

I guess it all depends on how long you intend on keeping the car. The resale is going to be poopy so if you are going to keep it for a while it might be a good deal. If you swap cars every couple years like me I would steer clear. Finding someone who is willing to buy it off of you might be difficult. Most people wont even touch a rebuilt title car.

I swap cars 5-6 times a year. For what I would have in it, I won't lose a penny.

I was. Multiple people from multiple forums contacted me and warned me it was not the deal it appeared to be.

 

When people I have never met warn me to stay away, I listen.
