Ry_Trapp01647545522 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 the 4.6l from the bullitt has been carried over in an attempt to help sell the last of the 09 models. the 2011 mustang will get an all aluminum, DOHC, 5.0l with ~400hp/360lb-ft, backed by a tremek TR6060 6 speed(same trans thats in the vette, viper, CTS-V, camaro, challenger, GT500, etc.). the 4.0l V6 is also set to be replaced by either the 3.5l or 3.7l V6, possibly with direct injection from the start. the 5.0l should get direct injection around 2 to 3 years after release. the 2010 model can be optioned with a dealer installed($$$) ford racing supercharger in either 400 or 500hp, with the factory warranty. in 2011 the GT500 is also set to get a nice performance upgrade, but nothing more than that has been said. In fact they'll probably end up laying off Mustang production employees after they're done slimming down the truck production crews. I hope they go under and get bought by Honda or Toyota. Nothing really changed except tail lights, the front end, wheels, engine and the interior/dash. The body/shape of the car was still the same. The V6 mustang is what pulled Ford through when the F-150 sales where down, they sell a LOT of them. Those sales are driven through advertising like that. People want the GT but settle for a V6.
