nurkvinny
On a related note, I took a pearl handed 2 shot .22 to my High School to show my teacher in 1993. It's not '57 vs. '07. Shit has changed way faster than 50 years.

BloodRed
Even though that is very true in most schools, there are still schools that are not like that. I graduated from Utica in 2000. Kids still had gun racks in there truck full of shotguns and rifles. No cops were ever called. Worst you got from fighting on school grounds were a couple days in after school detention. With parents approval, the school was still allowed to paddle kids in school. I can still remember hearing a kid screaming in Middle school while he was paddled. Me too....I went to a Catholic Grade School and can remember Sister Marie whipping out her custom made paddle she had for years. That was the big thing....look out if you got her for homeroom Thankfully I didn't have her homeroom....but back then, shooting spitballs and popcorn through straws was fucking hysterical. Just like Licking Valley, most small country schools let the kids get away with more.
LJ
I used to carry a 4" pocket knife in my back pocket back in 93-94. Never had an issue. We got in trouble for selling knives out of a backpack at lunch in '95. Principal called our parents, and we got the backpack of knives back at the end of the day, told never to bring them back
DaddyBuiltRacing
I dont think its just schools that have changed, its society in general. Everyone is so fucking worried about being Politically correct. It used to be black, white, mexican...now its African American, White, Mexican American. Fuck that i'm German American from now on with a side of Native American and a little English American. People who used to wear all black and think about suicide were known as Goth, now they are trendy and called Emo.

I remember in my Catholic grade school my teacher DUMPING out my desk in the middle of a class lecture. :asshole: Shit flowed out of my desk like Niagara Falls, all because I couldn't find a pencil. My public school had fights, guns, drugs, and I had to goto summer school... I graduated in 06...

wagner
Schools? Country. Bunch of pussies. My mom is a high school adminstrator and my dad just retired from teaching. They both agree the kids and parents are much worse now. It is a society problem in this country and it is not going to get any better. Some of the noobs that have been beat down in the oven are the prime example of the burning hell this country is headed towards.
