Alex L.
Hey everyone, just have a few pics that I forgot to post up. A few nighttime shots fucking around with lighting and a new technique that I'm developing. Here's what I've got: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/ScaryHouse.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/ScaryBuilding.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Buxton2.jpg And my favorite: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/Alley1.jpg What do you guys think? Clifford Automotive
So whats the technique you are developing?
Alex L.
Adding shadows, brightening some parts of the picture, and giving the pics a more shadowed and spooky look. They look more like paintings. I'm not going to give away my secrets but I've been messing around with Photoshop CS4 (got it yesterday) and developing this technique. Here's two others that I did (MkII love): http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/IMG_3621-after_alex.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y59/14biggy/MKIIHDR1.jpg
TTQ B4U
I'm not going to give away my secrets but I've been messing around with Photoshop CS4 (got it yesterday) and developing this technique. Nice! Looks like a nice use of rendering clouds with perhaps a little Nik Midnight thrown in ? That's how I do it.
Alex L.
Contrast/brightness, burn, and dodge. Just gotta eye the pic up and streak it where you see fit. It's pretty cool, and very effective.

Flyin Miata
Last one has some halos of light around the car that don't look right, makes the car look like it wasn't originally in the picture.

Alex L.
The one of my Supra isn't good, I realize; it pops out awkwardly. I think the obscure shadowing adds to the building pics though. I like it and I'm going to keep doing it.
iwashmycar
i dig the technique but i agree with others like on the supra pic... looks like it doesnt quite fit...opposite w the black car... i almost dont want it in there, as it looks like more of a pic of the building behind it... hard to showcase the car when you cant really see the lines of it anymore keep up the good work! Alex L.
Like I said, the Supra pics were experimental. This technique works better on buildings than anything else.
