Guest tbutera2112
I have a laptop that only outputs to HDMI (no vga or tvout) is there some sort of adapter, either usb or hdmi, that would allow me to hook my laptop up to a tv that only has s-video or composite connections? TTQ B4U
call these guys. they should be able to hook you up. you need both audio and video so you'll have to go component. http://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdtocoad.html
TURBOED
This seems kind of roundabout, but on this page, there is an HDMI to DVI adapter, then a DVI to component adapter... http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419

Trouble Maker
This seems kind of roundabout, but on this page, there is an HDMI to DVI adapter, then a DVI to component adapter... http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419 Won't work. HDMI is a digital only signal. DVI can have analog and/or digital on it. If you see a simple DVI to component cable it is using the analog signal on the DVI. The page you showed though has 'active' adapters that will convert the digital signals to analog. Those are the DVI/HDMI to component adapters. They are not cheap. But like others said, it will look bad, not worth it. It is doable though.
