Cafe Racer project

A few new shots. Wanted to get some detailed before shots and now that I'm pretty much done working on the Maxima few at least a day or two, I can take some time and work on the bike.

Get me some pics and a price. I'm curious to see how it could look.

Thanks

trust me it wouldnt look good on a cafe racer...its just a stock harley sportster peanut tank. now if you were to hardtail and bobber/rat it out then YES! :D

This is making me want to build a cafe racer. How much could a person score one of those old bikes for?

they have been more hard to find lately...i have had a couple CB's but cant seem to find a 750 for what im willing to pay. for a cafe racer i would spend a little more for something nicer. but i hack them up and ditch all the useless shit on them so thats why i wont spend much. i have seen a few for just over $1k lately. pretty nice ones too!

i think im gonna build an XS650 this time :D

i got a guy buying mine from Kentucky later this week for 1500....the bike is a rolling chassis and need the motor built and put in. But then again everything has been powder coated and way to many parts to list. The add is on CL

Yeah...here's my setup currently. I do need to get a bigger compressor though.

The Eastwood soda blaster is in the lower right corner (blue) with two bags of soda under the cabinet.

  • 5 months later...

Well, I know the progress has been very slow going, but with all the other projects I've been working on, I just haven't had much time to work on the bike. At this rate, Howard will have about 20k miles on his bike by the time mine is road worthy.

Anyways, here's a few pictures of this afternoon's progress.

Your doing a great job of labeling all the wires! That pipe is very rare these days, haven't seen on in a while. From back when MAC made a decent motorcycle pipe. I'm kicking my self for selling my XS650, GPZ1100 and CB750C. But oh well...derek needed a VFR, and now SuperMoto parts :)

These will give an idea as to what I'm hoping the end result will resemble.
