wnaplay1647545503
I am looking at a trade for a 32 ford p/u truck. Its a project that needs work. Its mostly there but definately needs work. For those who are un-aware what a rat rod is look at my alblum. We have negotiated over the past few weeks and we are now at the point where he wants my bike(98 cbr 900rr) and $1000 cash money. Any opinions? I am loading pics of the truck and of the bike for comparison. For those who remember, I got a steal on the bike. Heres the truck http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/3nb3me3o2ZZZZZZZZZ97f3a7c37b4f0301b.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/NewImageggggg.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/ghg.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/gggggggg.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/gggg.jpg The bike http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d87/wnaplay/DSCF1522.jpg Edited July 23, 2009 by wnaplay

Guest Removed
hell that thing is ready to run.. just fucking do it. but tell him your bike and 500.if not then hand him the 1000 then just drop it off over here
Dave1647545494
is it a kit car or a real 32? real all steel 32's are getting hard to find and that looks decent for 77 year old car
TimTaylor751647545500
What figure do you put on the bike? Looks like a steel body (rust on lower cowl in 2nd pic) There's a lot of money in that '32 and once it's put together it'll be worth quite a bit more than the bike IMO. wnaplay1647545503
What figure do you put on the bike? Well I built the bike for free(I will never sell it on here now). I bought 3 bikes and made this one in 4 hrs and sold everything else so this bike is free. Except for the $300 in brand new parts this year. I would sell it outright for $2800 plus the $1000 he wants.
wnaplay1647545503
hell that thing is ready to run.. just fucking do it. but tell him your bike and 500.if not then hand him the 1000 then just drop it off over here I at one time offered him, my van, my bike and my camper. He turned me down then came asking for them. He then said my bike plus $2800. We are now at the bike and $1000, I was going to do the $500 as well but there is almost no chance in getting it done. I then have to figure out how much more to finish it up so its driveable to cruise while I work on it here and there. main priority is getting it on the road to cruise. TimTaylor751647545500
Looks like steering, brakes, wiring are the bigger items on the to-do list (from the pics).
wnaplay1647545503
Waiting on a to-do list from him. My priority when doing projects is that I need to double my money in a split second if I decide to sell.

Dave1647545494
looks like it needs a steering colum and complete brakes for starters it also has no lights no glass and no radiator your going to lay out a good chunk of change to put that on the road unless it comes with a huge box of parts
Aaron
Not a huge fan of the fender look. But I would do it. Bikes are all the same, that has true character.
wnaplay1647545503
Waiting on parts list as well. This is a fair weather driver so it has front glass thats what I need. Someone ball park me some price ideas. This project is beyond anything I have ever done. I can figure it out eventually but anyone have experience? Rat rods are known for using the barest of essentials. If it was just for the bike, I would say no problem. The $1000 I hate to come off of. Cordell
Eh cars that old aren't my thing, however it doesn't sound like a bad deal at all. If the truck is something you want to fix up and keep I'd do it, but if you're just looking for a deal I'd pass.
wnaplay1647545503
This would be my keeper. Since my 71 chevelle was destroyed by a drunk driver, I have been looking for something, almost everyday for 8 years now. I was gonna go fbody but everyone got one, I was gonna go vette but everyone started getting them and then I got hurt and spent the vette money on bills to survive so I thought why not get something the next guy wont have. And since then I have come to really like the rat rod look. The corvair was going to be it but I sold it earlier this year.
TimTaylor751647545500
If the cab is solid, those can go for $2k+ alone. There's a guy who built his entire '32 for $3k on clubhotrod.com, but he really went out of his way to source parts that he could use for the build. I think you could easily have a couple more grand into her to get it complete (depending on how "finished" you want her to look)

Dave1647545494
rat rod usually means unsafe pos that barley drives or a 50k car built out of new parts that looks like it barley drives they make "rust" color powdercoat now so people can make a nice car look all fucked up count on 3-5k if you scrounge and leave it rusty closer to 10k if you make it nice
