Casper
Can anyone confirm this? I've been told St Rt 555 was repaved late last year. If this is true, we need to have a group trip down there this Spring!!!!

Kosmo
I will have to do 555, missed it last year. But still arguably the best twisty in Ohio is 536, Madmax33 took me there last year.....http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/MidWest/OH/OH_20.shtml
max power
I think Angrish is in Ashville near 23. 555 is between the ohio river and burr oak.http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=OH-550&daddr=OH-555%2FOH-78+to:OH-555&hl=en&geocode=FQJ_WQIdupkf-w%3BFbYYXAIdZB8d-w%3BFZh9WwIdFncd-w&mra=ls&sll=39.546147,-81.954703&sspn=0.014693,0.027165&ie=UTF8&z=11IIRC this part was all new. SWing'R
I rode it this last season and I'd say at least half of it looked like new pavement.I'm always up for a run down it but you guys scare me, after that crazy charity poker run Has anyone rode it with a group before? I've run it myself and with one other person but that was it.
Harb67
I'm definitely up for a trip down 555 this spring. I've heard lots of good and bad things about it, but the bad stuff was mostly due to poor road surface. Now that it's repaved, I'm very curious to see what this road has to offer
600ZZ4eb
i hope so, i've been wanting to ride this rode, but heard it had some really bad spots. If it is confirmed, i would be down for a spring ride, summer ride, or fall ride as long as it was warm!!!
RedCloud
Yeah 555, isn't bad at all. I thought the northern section was even in pretty good shape near the end of summer. The only issue I have with it is that is it isn't much of a secret, I usually end up fighting my way past piles of bikes and traffic... warmonger
never been, live in cincy. might to ride over there one weekend. we ride ky here, great twisties.
Uncle Punk
I rode it with another guy right after the repave; the lines weren’t even painted on yet. New blacktop is slippery! It was the most fun and scariest ride I had on the street all year. We ended up having to slow down and just goofed of dirt track-drifting on the fresh pavement. I would not have wanted to be with a group for that ride. I’m sure it has cured by now and should be good to go in the spring.
Fonzie
I'd be up for a trip on the 555. Been wanting to hit it, this would give us a good reason to I'll bring up the rear for all you crazy, Ricky Racer fuggers How long is 555 anyway? ReconRat
Rode the Northern part several times last year. Rode it all solo in late September last year. The Southern part past 78 was mostly smooth. It didn't seem to match all the rider reports. It didn't look like fresh pavement, it was weathered in. So I don't know when it got repaved. I said so back then. Most of it is populated, houses and farms, small towns. Especially toward the Southern end where it nears the river. It is not uncommon to see cars and trucks that ran off the road the night before. I don't think it is a good road for elevated velocities. A little, sure, a lot, no. I'll predict crashes for anyone that pushes the limits, bring a crash truck. And saw a group of fast-moving squids (no helmets, no gear) on this road last year. No idea who they were. Had quite a few blind corners and cambered turns witch made for some nice riding. There were alot of houses and quite a bit of traffic. It was a Sunday though. I sure would like to go down and run it again. Along with 555 and 800. I haven't rode 555 yet but 2 years ago I rode 800 and really enjoyed it. They are on my to do list again this season! ReconRat
How long is 555 anyway?Basically it's Zanesville to Little Hocking on the river.State Routes 60 and 339 runs between the two towns, and looks like this;66.6 mi – about 1 hour 58 mins - Sweepershttp://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=zanesville,+oh&daddr=little+hocking,+oh&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&dirflg=ht&sll=39.907629,-82.023239&sspn=0.12404,0.2211&ie=UTF8&z=9And back road 555 looks like this;67.5 mi – about 2 hours 56 mins - Twistieshttp://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=zanesville,+oh&daddr=OH-555%2FOld+River+Rd+to:Center+Rd%2FOH-555+to:OH-555%2FOH-669+to:183+to:OH-555+to:OH-555+to:39.354742,-81.789951+to:T238+to:OH-32%2FOH-7%2FUS-50+to:little+hocking,+oh&hl=en&geocode=%3BFY62YAIdAc4c-w%3BFSrJXwIdevoc-w%3BFeyRXgIdoowc-w%3BFZzuXAIdjHMc-w%3BFaiaWwId6G0d-w%3BFefVWQIdq7cf-w%3B%3BFZJPWAIdQmEg-w%3BFas-VwIdfHwh-w%3B&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=7&sz=13&via=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9&dirflg=ht&sll=39.34452,-81.78154&sspn=0.062527,0.11055&ie=UTF8&ll=39.626846,-81.905823&spn=0.996361,1.768799&z=9edit: changed distance and time for 60/339I rode both last year. part of Route 60 just South of Zanesville had some weather bumps/lumps in it at the seams that were just annoying. thump...thump...thump... needed a better saddle for that. ReconRat
And yes, parts of the Northern portion were torn up last year. It will be worse this year. Enough so to take you out if you're going too fast. It required weaving through missing chunks of pavement. It's in a sort of wooded area not far South of Zanesville. It was worse on the Southbound side. Steep embankments and trees. Bad place to leave the road. The road was ok after that. It needs to be scouted and reported first. Hell, the entire road needs to be scouted and reported first.

Earache
The first 1/2 of 26 as you leave MArietta is smooth and nice, but it turns to absolute shit after that until you reach Route 800. Broken pavement and holes all over the place.I rode it last in Ocober of last year - dunno if it's been repaved at all since then.
