boosted98gst
I know we have a huge fan base of LSX guys on here but I also know we have a small percent of import guys. This is for all the non crappy ricer cars, and for the tasteful built imports. What type of car? What mods? Whats the car going to be built or is used for? What are your goals with the car? Ive been having long conversations with a few friends and wonder why ohio lacks a real big import drag racing scene like out West or East. Just wanted to get an idea what cars here is or will be doing.
Guest mitsumodder
1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX rosses with eagles, port and polish, shep trans, 23psi, all supporting mods. strictly a toy/drag car goal is 11.99 1/4 mile...went 13.0 at the shootout but it was HOT and it isn't tuned and hadn't been on the track in 4 years

Break the 500whp mark, learn to drag race with it What type of car? 1994 Toyota Supra What mods? Single turbo, fuel, MAP ECU2, RPS 6-puck clutch, 272 cams, etc. Whats the car going to be built or is used for? Angry street car that will see track time What are your goals with the car? Eventually build a car that I can make a run at a 9-second 1/4 mile pass with and then go from there

Bam
What type of car? 1988 Mazda RX7 What mods? Ford 2.3t swap, basic bolt-ons What's the car going to be built or is used for? Street car toy, hopefully track time at Nelson Ledges/Mid-Ohio/Auto-X - Beat Derek, What are your goals with the car? Get it running smooth, figure out the suspension, and enjoy it. Later down the road I may go solid rear and big turbo if I get bored, we'll see though I'm not really partial to imports or domestics, I've owned and modded both, but this is my biggest project to date and I'm getting excited as its nearing completion. Smokey
I like drag racing, but honestly it's never been high enough on my priority list to build a car for it. There are just other things I like more. I also don't think the percentage of imports is as small as you might think. What type of car? 95' BMW M3 What mods? TCKline S/A Coilovers, GC Big front sway bar, intake, exhaust, upgraded MAF and injectors. Bunch of little stuff like short shifter, some poly bushings, adjustable camber arms/plates. Whats the car going to be built or is used for? Daily Driver during the non-winter months, sometimes track (HPDE) car. What are your goals with the car? I wanted a car that would be reliable enough to drive every day yet still built well enough to DRIVE to the track, track it, and DRIVE home. I was able to do that just fine, I just haven't tracked it in a while. What type of car? 93' Mazda Rx7 What mods? GC Advance Design D/A coilovers, Upgraded front sway bar and Widefoot mounts, Custom front strut tower brace, Big front brakes with 2-piece rotors and Willwood superlite calipers, Stock twins at 13-14psi, PFS SMIC, PFC, 850x4 injectors, full 3" exhaust, coolingmist water injection. Bunch of little stuff like upgraded intake temp sensor, adjustable rear toe links, short shifter, ACT clutch/flywheel etc. Whats the car going to be built or is used for? On a regular basis it's basically my replacement for my motorcycle. Hell, you smell like you've been riding a bike after getting out of it. ...so, mostly weekend car and track car. What are your goals with the car? I've tracked the car and will continue down that path, it can hang with some of the faster guys at the tracks (911s, Z06s, Evos) where the M3 would unfortunately have it's lack of motor hold it back a bit. I can make a lot more compromises in this car in favor of better track performance and not have it bother me as much as if the car was my daily like the M3. thorne
What type of car? Subaru Impreza WRX What mods? VF39/HUGE TMIC/3inch down&up/IPS Motorsport catback/Modded stock injectors 823cc/walbro 255/JDM STi RA v6 Tranny/LC-1/Stage 4 Clutch/HPS HAWKS/20% tint/Thorne Special Sauce/TurboXS Hyrbid BOV/Kartboy shifter combo/ CAI Intake / Halman MBC / E85 / Truck Bed lining STi Springs / Tokico d-spec / Outrigger bushings / TiC Clunk Killer RACE / whiteline steering bushings / Trailing arm bushings / Tranny bushings Whats the car going to be built or is used for? I really enjoy playing in the dirt but I tried to build it with versatility in mind, With its current setup it can be used at autocross / Rallycross. I do drag race my car on occasion and it does not do that bad 12.9 last time I was out. It's not my primary concern but I can atleast have a good time doing it. What are your goals with the car? Daily drivable I really would like to see 350whp off the current setup after a few more minor mods. In the near future it should have a 2.5 added to the mix along with a larger turbo. My goal is 450whp on 93 500whp on e85. Current #'s 93 dyno 300/282 E85 dyno 333/335 Last 1/4 12.9 @ 106 on 93 I really enjoy my car even though I really wish I had a daily driver at times because of the noise. I've put allot of money into it much more then I could have if I would have done some parts of it right the first time. Over all I feel the car is a awesome street machine, I have descent handling braking and more forward acceleration then most street cars. Mojoe
There hasn't been the domostic/import issues that there were 5 years ago. There seems to be a better understanding of the build/use and the rice factor has fallen off a lot from where it was.

Little more suspension work, would like to have it as a dedicated track car NO 1/4 MILE! Car? '87 Toyota Supra Turbo Mods? Drop springs, shocks, BOV, Intercooler, (sill rebuilding, low budget here) Usage? Well, planning on 1/4 mile, autox, track day, and drifting. Goals? Have fun, not break a lot and to have an all around car for everything. Oh, and to add to your original post, there probably is not a big import drag racing scene b/c FWD cars are not built for drag racing physically. Obviously they still race them once they jack the rear of the car way up to keep the weight transfer in check.
