smokin5s
so I have an 18th century player piano, it's in the greatroom of my house in blacklick on the ground floor. I need to move it out of that house and to my parents garage in Gahanna... it's about a 5 mile trip. The best price I've been quoted is 200 which is really high IMO for a 5 mile triip. so my question is, anyone want to help move that beast into a U-Haul and then back out at my parents house or does anyone know of any moving companies that can do it on the cheap? Thanks!

Akula
$200 is cheap. You are getting a group of guys that do this, have the equipment, and have insurance.

smokin5s
ya, but it's 200 dollars and when I just had to pony up 15,000 dollars to sell the house, money is pretty damn tight right now
HAOLE
Spend the $200 on them moving the piano or spend more than that at my office fixing your spine. Those pianos are HEAVY!!! $200 sounds like a crack head price to me.
Trouble Maker
And it's easy to break them trying to move them without the proper equipment. I know the front legs on my parents have almost bitten the dust a few times just moving it a few feet to clean. LJ
I would pay the $200. I know money is short, but those damn pianos are so fragile in their own way.

Tractor
We moved my wifes not really big piano with a bunch of guys once and the next time we decided to hire pros. They made it look easy. I do agree though $200 is to much for 5 miles. We moved ours 30miles and it wasn't quite $200.
